Setbacks | Best 60ish Seconds

With just over a week before President-elect Trump's inauguration, Charlie looks ahead to a new day in America with President Trump's return to the White House. He then pivots to two setbacks this week, the first a negative for America's steel industry, and the second - while a setback for the Biden Administration - was a positive move for the rule of law.

Charlie starts by criticizing President Biden, who continues to leave a wake of economic damage, illustrated by his decision to kill the Nippon Steel/U.S. Steel deal. "This is the craziness of this Administration," says Charlie.

Next, Charlie discusses Thursday's ruling by U.S. District Court Chief Judge Danny Reeves that struck down the Biden administration’s Title IX rule nationwide, declaring the regulations violated the Constitution.

In closing, Charlie reflects on the passing of former President Jimmy Carter. "History has a way of trying to build things up that shouldn't have been built up," says Charlie. "Carter was a good man... but his presidency was a failed presidency, there's no way to get around that." Charlie cites both the Panama Canal and Iran as failures in Carter's foreign policy, while acknowledging his achievements with Habitat for Humanity.
