Memorial Day 2023 | Best 60ish Seconds

In this week's Best 60ish Seconds Charlie discusses U.S. Senator Tim Scott and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announcing their presidential bids for 2024. Charlie says the large field of Republican nominees is a positive saying it shows Republicans believe they have a great opportunity to win back the presidency and that it will give the voters the chance to see how these candidates perform "over time and under pressure."

He moves on to discuss the latest cultural news as the Los Angeles Dodgers face backlash for re-inviting the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence for their Pride Night, and Target also receives backlash for their LGBTQ+ merchandise. Charlie moves on to mention the unfortunate passing of the "Queen of Rock 'n' Roll" Tina Turner.

And he closes with a reminder of the meaning and history of Memorial Day, encouraging everyone to pause for a minute of silence this Monday at 3 p.m. to reflect on the sacrifice made by our fallen heroes.
