America Standing Tall | Best 60ish Seconds
"With more than a month to go before he's actually sworn-in to office, Donald J. Trump is on the world's stage, showing what leadership really looks like," says Charlie, leading off this week's Best 60ish Seconds. "It's refreshing to see America standing straight and tall, and gaining the world's respect."
Charlie comments on President-elect Trump ringing the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange, observing that it's fascinating to see what's happened to American culture following the presidential election just over five weeks ago.
He next addresses the assassination of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson and subsequent arrest of Luigi Mangione in Altoona, Pa. In the aftermath of Brian Thompson's murder, Charlie criticizes the American left for lauding his death, specifically calling out University of Pennsylvania Cinema & Media Studies professor Julia Alekseyeva.
Charlie also discusses Daniel Penny being found not guilty of criminally negligent homicide in the death of Jordan Neely. And he closes by calling for transparency and the truth with regard to the mysterious drones flying over New Jersey.
