Tourney and Tax Time | Best 60ish Seconds
Charlie begins this week's Best 60ish segment with a short intro while at Madison Square Garden cheering on his Villanova Wildcats in the Big East Tournament. We then find Charlie in Philadelphia, paying his respects to former U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania David W. Marston, after his unfortunate passing last week.
Charlie then comments on Gov. Josh Shapiro's first budget address, acknowledging Gov. Shapiro's tone was different from that of former Gov. Tom Wolf, whose budget addresses would berate Republican legislatures. One topic missing from Gov. Shapiro's address was the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI), which he says Gov. Shapiro has been all over the place on, and that RGGI is a tax on Pennsylvanians. He closes by noting the retirement of Jim Boeheim, the iconic Syracuse men's basketball coach for the past 47 years.
