Promises, Policy, Pushback | Best 60ish Seconds
In this week's Best 60ish Seconds, Charlie continues to highlight the Trump administration's flying start, simply doing what they promised to do.
He begins by addressing DOGE's request to government workers to submit activity and/or accomplishment bullets. He then notes that in one month, President Trump has answered more than a thousand questions from the media. He also discusses foreign policy and questions why it's America's responsibility to defend Ukraine, saying it's time to reexamine how we play diplomacy around the world. Charlie returns to domestic matters by pointing out Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson’s abysmal approval rating, saying that it seems the people of Chicago are seeking fewer leftist policies and more common sense.
Moving to the media, Charlie agrees with the Trump administration’s decision to restrict the Associated Press’ unlimited access to the White House. He says it’s not a threat to free speech and the administration has every right to do so.
He wraps this with a “goodbye for now” as he heads off to Florida for his first time taking in a couple of spring training games.
