Running the Table | Best 60ish Seconds

In this week's Best 60ish Seconds, Charlie begins by noting Kash Patel's confirmation by the Senate on Thursday to serve as FBI director. More broadly, despite some questioning which cabinet nominations might not get confirmed, Charlie says they've "run the table" with swift confirmations and near-unanimous Republican support.

Pivoting from politics, Charlie discusses the murder of Ellen Greenberg, which has been a subject of controversy and ongoing investigation since her death in Philadelphia on January 26, 2011. Ellen's death was initially ruled a homicide by the pathologist who performed the autopsy, Dr. Marlon Osbourne, but was later changed to a suicide in February 2011 after discussions with law enforcement. However, this month, 14 years later, Dr. Osbourne reversed his opinion, stating that Greenberg's manner of death "should be designated as something other than suicide." Charlie discusses the case's connection to then Pennsylvania attorney general, and now governor, Josh Shapiro.

Shifting from Pennsylvania, Charlie discusses his native Brazil and the prosecution of former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro. Charlie suggests it sounds eerily similar to proceedings against Donald Trump. Moreover, Charlie explains how Brazil has an elections court and the power of Brazilian rogue judges who have their own police force at their command. Listen for more!
